It's a 5 minute phone call.  Surely you can take a 5 minute call and say "no offer, good day".
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Of course I can, if I am in the country. I am working outside the UK between 1 and 2 months around Xmas in a distant time zone, and I am not sure when I would be available on my UK number. Maybe I should explain exactly this and give them the time when I would be reachable? Thoughts, please?

  • I have a bugging question, please. Is it ok to fill out the questionnaire on the computer, print it, sign it, scan it, and then email it? Or would that be "odd"? Thanks for the help.

No problem with that proposal, it used to be one way we advised people before they could download the pdf and fill it in

There is no actual reason to print it either, just add an e signature instead. ( One way is to sign a piece of white paper using a black ink pen , scan it and attach to the document, saving as a pdf and emailing the pdf ) There are alternatives but I prefer the method I described
  • Awesome. Thanks for the quick response. One more question before I submit: Do they send the notice regarding mediation appointments by mail or email? I am worried they send it by mail while I am not at home.

The only requirement for a signature is to type your name for it. No need for all the faffing around with photos of your real signature.

Typing your name can constitute a legally binding electronic signature in the UK, as long as it is intended to authenticate the document and meets any other relevant legal requirements.

CPR Part 5.3 states that where a document is required to be signed, this requirement is satisfied if the signature is printed by computer or other mechanical means. Therefore, typing your name at the end of the document can constitute a valid electronic signature, provided it is intended to authenticate the document.

Thank you all. I have sent the DQ to dq.cnbc@justice.gov.uk and CCed the attorney representing them (s*****@dcblegal.co.uk). I found her email address by searching her name. I have already received the auto-reply from DQ.CNBC. Do I need to also send the DQ to the "info@dcblegal.co.uk" email account?

Great. I have sent them the same DQ, and got the auto-reply. I am genuinely grateful for the tremendous support.
