Ryanair - cancelled flight

Help/advice please lovely people! 🙂
I booked a flight with Ryanair from Dublin to Edinburgh, flying at 13:50 on 09/04/24.
2 days before the flight I received an email saying my flight was no longer going ahead and we had been rebooked on an earlier flight that day dep 10:15.
The email gave me 2 options. Either accept the changes or choose a different flight. There was no option for refund despite Ryanair’s website saying there would be?
As I was meeting a friend flying in from the USA, the 10:15 departure to Edinburgh was of no use as it was before the incoming US flight. The original 13:50 was perfect.

We had to reschedule literally everything and make alternative arrangements!
I have contacted Ryanair on 3 occasions regarding refunding my money, but each time they reply with same response, something along the lines of “Ryanair only sell non-refundable tickets”
How do I proceed from here?
Thank you 🙂

What option did you pick?
I suspect either you or the system (as you didn’t select an option) allocated that earlier 10:15 flight. Then post flight, RyanAir and telling you that the flight is non-refundable.0 -
I didn’t pick either option as neither were suitable. I simply contacted Ryanair straight away to advise of this and request a refund.
The email I received advising of the cancelled flight detailed that they had already booked me onto
the earlier flight and I could either accept or choose a different flight.0 -
Was this contact by phone, webchat, email? Perhaps a record of the conversation/written interaction, was made?1

I could understand that comment if the new flight offered was later. Earlier just meant a few hours to fill.GLXTURBODIESEL said:

I do have some correspondence from Ryanair.
How do I proceed with this?
Please help!

Is there something factually incorrect in your opening post. Cancelling the entire travel plans makes no sense either.GLXTURBODIESEL said:

It makes perfect sense if you consider the possibility that the inbound US flight was actually arriving in Dublin.Hoenir said:
