Bt sport help needed

I run a small business and cancelled my contract with BTSport 4 months after my contract came to an end. The service was cut off the next day but the bills however continued to arrive. I have had numerous arguments over the phone with them getting nowhere so I took it to the communications ombudsman. They have rang with a resolution. Btsports have admitted that they accepted my cancellation over the phone but apparently changed their mind 2 months later and decided they needed written cancellation. The ombudsman states the only resolution available to me is to have 2 months knocked off the 11 month bill (11 months after the 4 months out of contract) plus £30 for the complaint letter they said they didn't receive (but was proven signed for). Can somebody please help? How can a company charge you for a non existent contract and service you aren't receiving? I don't know where to turn next.

doesn't make sense - when the contract "came to an end" did you go onto a rolling contract, or did you go onto a new 12 month contract?
If the later - that's why you are being charged - you have a 12 month contract that you pay monthly - stop the service / paying and it's still a contract - they may give you a discount but ultimately you have agreed to have the service for 12 months.0 -
As this was a B2B contract, does it go onto a rolling monthly contract, or does it start a new 12 month contract?
You would need to dig your contract out.
But this is not a consumer rights issue.Life in the slow lane2
