Was given an appointment for next week then they changed it to today at 10am.  I didn't realise it had changed and missed the appointment.   I should have checked my journal.   However, I stated clearly I couldn't do mornings due to work commitments yet they scheduled a morning appointment.  I also said my van was out of action and could they do it after 25th which they did but then changed it back to 18th (today).   Will I get sanctioned ir whatever and what does that mean?

I didn't text them until after the appointment though but clearly stated couldn't do mornings before appointment

Shall I just wait for their reply or call them?

Ive just sent three messages stating I had told them and to check old messages on 15th that I couldn't do mornings

In my experience I would be braced for a sanction…. Act now and rebook the appointment, as the sanction is likely to be the number of days from the missed appointment until the next appointment plus 7 days for a first sanction.

You can challenge a sanction and if needed take a hardship payment if required.

UC are required to give you reasonable notice of appointments. There is no clear definition in legislation at to what constitutes reasonable notice, so it is up to DWP to decide what is reasonable. Your commitments state you should log in regularly and complete any tasks in your todo list, and the appointment would have been listed in your todo list.
DWP generally consider 48h notice as reasonable for a claimant who is required to log in "regularly", and should cancel any referrals for failure to attend where less than 48hours notice was given.
You will be asked to provide your reasons for failing to attend the appointment. I would state that you were unaware that the appointment had been changed/rebooked (do you know when it was changed and if 48h notice was given, and maybe you just didn't notice?).
Why can't you attend morning appointments?
There is no point calling as the call centre operators are not fully trained and often do not pass messages on correctly. Better to complete the ToDo asking for your reasons for failing to attend the appointment, and give your full reasons there. You can also put your reasons in writing on your journal as any decision maker considering a sanction will also check and consider any relevant entries.
