Previously I used Microsoft Money to record and manage my finances.
Are there any current applications that cover the bases in this regard?

I use Moneydance and have done for a number of years. I particularly like the various built in reports, they make it a doddle come self assessment time.1

Have you tried archiving everything before a certain date? That sometimes fixes issues.35har1old said:

I’m still using Money 2005 and am happy with it. If I ever need to move on I have my eye on Moneywiz but I think it’s Mac, iPhone & iPad only.0 -
No ongoing charge, they do offer updates, at a reduced price, but no compunction to update.35har1old said:

I seem to recall I downloaded it from the internet but once installed a connection is not needed. Again I think could download for free and test for some days before paying, but this was 10+ years ago so may have changed.0 -
I favour AceMoney. I've been using it for many years, and it serves me well. It costs about £40 initially, but that's a one-off cost. There's no ongoing charge.MoneyManager EX also looks good, though I've never used it in anger. It's free.1

I am now using Actual Budget which is brilliant, a capable and flexible modern envelope budgeting system. I sync about 14 bank accounts and 4 credit cards using GoCardless (for free). It is open source with a good community, I self host so there is zero cost for the software (less technical options are available for minimal hosting cost). Android "app" (PWA) is functional if not very pretty yet. I manage multiple income streams and business/family/personal costs and it works flawlessly and efficiently. Just been playing with template goals for automating each month's budget with a few clicks. Previously I was still using YNAB4 but this is better.0

Is it called Actual Budget in Google play store? Can't seem to find it 😬NorwichMan said:I am now using Actual Budget which is brilliant, a capable and flexible modern envelope budgeting system. There is no app in the play store (there might be some old deprecated ones but ignore those). You have to get it running first then save the webpage to your android home screen, it's a "progressive web app". It is a bit of work to set it up but if you are moderately techy it's straightforward.1

Not sure if I can post a link here, but if you search for actual budget and look for the .org site (.com is the old one) then there are good instructions. For me it has been absolutely worth the effort.1
