biasi combi bolier

I have recently had a new boiler and radiators fitted- biasi Riva advance 32kw combi boiler.

However on the pressure bar it rises to 1.5bar when the central heating is switched on and running, which seems ok. When the CH is switched off the pressure slowly falls to 0.5 bar and stays there, until the heating is switched back on. Is this normal as i think 0.5 seems a bit low?

  • thanks for thwe reply,

surely if im having to fill up something's not quite right
  • Hi

Depends on how often you need to top up. Once a week then, yes ,you have a problem . Once a year is easily achievable with a good installation. Any pressure drop is seen to on the annual service.
If you feel you have a leak ,go around and check all the rad valves take, off the caps as well .Look for any sign of scale /leaks at all the rad connections.

  • One of the rads has a very small leak at the compression joint, it feels touch dry but place a piece of of tissue paper under it and it becomes very slightly damp, but only slightly, do you think this would cause the pressure to reduce?
  • Hi

Yes that'll be enough to do it , a nip up with a spanner should stop it.(with a pair of grips to hold against you).
