PLusnet renewal woes

I have been with plusnet 12 years or so.
Each year renewal at a reasonable price has been a real struggle akin to haggling in a bazzar.
This year clearly prices have firmed up and my initial renewal offer for fast fibre and anytime calls woud have pushed my monthly cost from £28.76 to £38.68 so 35% ish.
Clearly things are changing and prices have gone throught the roof. Best offer was £25.99 a nonth for broadband and after much negotoation a £75 gift card for taking a 24 month contract. Is this a good deal? The anytime call package is now not cost effective at 12.99
The reason for the mail is just to advise people to push for the gift card!
I fear to the friendly northern charm of PN is a thing of the past. I have had:
- Random prices quoted several times - sometimes higher than the renewal price on my portal
- No records of previous converstaions kept
- Promised email confirmations not sent
- The existence of gift cards denied
- No manager in today
- No knowledge of the complaints procedure
- Twice put on hold and then cut off
Are others having the same experience? Maybe its because I'm a money saver!

£25.99 a month is a good deal if it is as good as or better than deals from alternative suppliers. See what others are offering and then you can decide for yourself. If you think you can get a better deal elsewhere just switch. There is no reason to stay with any particular ISP if you can get a better deal elsewhere.1

How can you get Anytime calls if they are going to do what they are going to do for my PN account, that is : remove the landline if/when I renew in a few months time?
(I am not on any free call plan with them , just to add)0 -
I have reluctantly renewed and taken off the call plan. I still have a landline and would like to use my old fashioned phone rather than my mobile for all calls (I'm old fashioned!) so I'm sad to see it go.I could get a slightly better deals elsewhere with cashback taken into account but have run out of time and enthusiasm. I would also have lost my plusnet email which would then have taken me a bit of time to switch 15 yrears of contacts to.I resent having to sign up for a two year contract in an environment of technical changes. In my whole life apart from a mortgage I have never had to sign up for something for so long to get a half decent price so that seems odd too.0

Now is the time to start switching to a different email service that is not tied to a specific ISP. Then at the next renewal time there is one less thing to worry about if you do decide to switch.

You may be surprised. You can just contact those and the rest can come and find you at your Plusnet address for the next two years.0

I believe if you leave PN for BB you can keep your PlusNet email useable as an email only account perhaps
for a smaller charge - as you migrate away at your leisure - or at least according to posts on their support forum this was an option a few years ago - but ISP bonded email addresses are a bad idea nowadays.0 -
Patr100I think this used too be an option, but is no longer the case. I googled it and the people I phoned from Plusnet confirmed that this was not possible. If anyone knows differently I'd be interested.I too am moving all my contacts away from my plusnet email account.0
