Manchester to Calgary delay

Hi, just got back from a holiday to Canada. Our outbound flight was Manchester to Toronto, where we got a connecting flight to Calgary. Flight was all with Air Canada …. Luggage going straight through.
Our flight from Manchester left approx 4 hours late, so we had to get put on a later connecting flight to Calgary. Eventually arrived in Calgary at 24:00 rather than 18:30.
ive logged this with Air Canada, but their website only let us select the Manchester to Toronto leg.
anyone had any success with a similar scenario?
