Your witness statement is still confusing; in your defence you wrote: -
The Defendant was the registered keeper of the vehicle in question at that time. On 25/02/2024, the driver and passenger visited the Pear Tree Inn as genuine customers for a curry/drink. (Pear Tree Inn is a pub/restaurant ....

In your WS you write: -

On Sunday 25th February 2024, at 18.47 hrs, the Driver of XXXXX drove into the Pear Tree Inn car park and parked up, along with a female companion

Are you defending as Registered Keeper and NOT driver and NOT even in the vehicle OR are you defending as Registered Keeper and NOT driver but you were in the vehicle as a passenger?  You need to make it quite clear to the judge what the TRUE situation is.

Registered keeper/defendant/driver are the same person. I was the passenger/bill payer. We are married lol.

A little confused about it all to be honest. About the defending part I mean. What best to do.

    Thanks for your advice 🙂

Too late for defending, that is done, your witness statement just need to make sense.  It could just say "we were visiting ..........." or "the vehicle was parked ......."
Don't confuse the judge!  You could use any of the witness statements that use Chan & Akande for example written by @aza123 or @Kpmp54 both of which include Chan & Akande
Make sure that you include the evidence as indicated in the NEWBIE sticky at this point: -
At witness statement stage (usually NOT LATER THAN 14 DAYS BEFORE YOUR HEARING!)...........

"Registered keeper/defendant/driver are the same person. I was the passenger/bill payer. We are married lol."

Just checking  -  everything on all documents have the name of your partner  -  your name does not appear anywhere?

Checking because some posts state "
None apply to my case." or similar.

Everything in his name. The exhibit which is the bank transaction is in my name. We partially have the same surname.  I remember adding my name as a potential witness on a document previously though. It got sent to court.

    Thanks.

Hi again, I posted my witness statement and exhibits to the CEL Liverpool address on Saturday gone. I sent it 48 hrs tracked and the letter has been redirected elsewhere. I don't know where.

Same paperwork dropped off at the court in person on Monday.

The deadline for CEL receiving the WS is 15th December.

I haven't received anything from CEL except their generic WS from S Wilson.

Is this redirection a ploy by CEL to say they haven't received the paperwork does anyone think? Thanks.

The CEL address in Liverpool is probably like a P O Box number,  not their actual address

Its not your Witness Statement,  it's your partners Witness Statement bundle

Normally the defendant  ( not you ) emails it to the court and to the lawyers,  if used,  otherwise to the claimant,  rarely by post

Are they using lawyers ( DCB LEGAL  ) , or is it an in house claim via S Wilson  ?

I strongly suggest that you alter the thread title in the first post,  using the EDIT button,  to something more suitable like

    CEL Court Claim 2025

Or  CEL , DCB Legal court claim 2025   ( if its DCB Legal hidden below your yellow paper  ?  )

Will do that tonight 🙂 Cheers.

    Still not done

    Or

Post a picture of the top left of the claim form,  above this name and address  ( no personal or private information   )

Unfortunately the defendant, (him, not me) knows nothing about using the laptop to type the Witness Statement.  He's read it, signed it. The court is in his home city.  Easier to send him down there. At least he knows where it is now!

I don't have a scanner and one of the exhibits is from a closed down bank account. I'd need to scan it back in, to email. Taking photos wasn't clear enough so photocopying and posting it was 🙂

It's S Wilson, not DCB Legal.

    Thanks for the contact details.
