Will the next step be a court date?
Will I end up with a CCJ?
No and no.  Read the NEWBIES thread.

There are several steps before any actual court date, even then if you lost there you just pay off the judgment promptly and IN FULL, within the 30 days grace period allowed by the court, or you might win based on the poor and inadequate signage changes and pay nothing at all

    Or

    It might never happen

Meanwhile, ignore anything except a formal Letter of Claim. ( LoC or LBC. ), after that you may receive a court claim ( not a court date. ) in which you use the advice already on here in the newbies sticky thread in announcements

    Or it may never happen

You are now at the impasse stage, neither side budging an inch

And you certainly don't pay to make it go away!  There is no risk by following this forum's advice.

There is a reason why the operator ignored your comments, because they know you outed them, in the unlikely event this went to court a judge might see through their scam.

Thanks, but I don't have exact proof of that. I do visit the place regularly and I don't recall seeing any clear temporary signs. There again it might just be me not noticing as usually I'm there and out in no time. Obviously I don't go there anymore. I hope what everyone says on this thread is true and it doesn't get to court.

But you want it to go to court. That's when you win.  We do this every day and know what we are doing.

Today I received a letter from UCS (Ultimate Customer Solutions) demanding £170. Basically even more money than before. They're threatening that if I don't pay within 7 days of the date on the letter - 09/09/2024 they will recommend to their client Asteria to pass this matter to their solicitors with instructions to issue legal proceedings. I honestly wish I'd paid the £60 or gone physically to see the landowner who could have cancelled this. I'm feeling so anxious now. They're asking for £170 and there's no option to pay £100. I'm sure somebody said that even if you went to court it would be no more than £100 but they are bumping up the £££!

Debt collector letter. Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post, about dealing with debt collectors?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Thanks I've re-read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post about debt collectors.

Does anybody think it's worth complaining to the IPC about their member breaching their terms and conditions? In other words not putting up large, temporary signs when they took over from the former parking company? This is post 5 in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement.

The landowner tried to cancel via his app, but he said he couldn't as I'd already appealed.

Honestly, I can't stomach going to court over this.

Yes you can cope because we'd walk you through defending. But UCS can't sue. They aren't a solicitor.  Ignore them.

If you are going to make a complaint to the IPC you must first make a complaint to the parking firm.
