That's great to see; a non-template defence is right for a cloned numberplate case.

You don't need this if putting wording in on MCOL because the boxes already covers it:

    Statement of Truth

I believe that the facts stated in this Defence are true.
I understand that proceedings for contempt of court may be brought against anyone who makes, or causes to be made, a false statement in a document verified by a statement of truth without an honest belief in its truth.

Thanks for confirming that! Just wondering — in your experience, would it be better to submit the Defence via MCOL or to email it to ClaimResponses.CNBC@justice.gov.uk?

I’ve got quite a detailed Defence (cloning case with evidence and specific facts), so I’m leaning towards email to preserve formatting, but I’d appreciate your view on which route is more reliable.

Email is fine, as long as you do it as per the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread and get the auto-receipt. Then check MCOL weekly to make sure the CNBC update it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have just received a letter from DCB Legal dated 3 July. They have reviewed the defence and want to proceed. I have a copy of their N180.

Just as expected and in line with the NEWBIE sticky and 12-steps. Wait for your copy of the DQ in the post, then download one and complete it. Once you can get back into MCOL, check your status and download a DQ once you see DQ posted to you.

All in the 'The First 8 Steps' as shown in the Template Defence Announcement near the top of the forum threads list.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This might sound like a stupid question but on paper document I received on the very first page, the Name of court says Civil National Business Centre. Do I put that on my downloaded form too. or Do I put my home court Basildon?

    Either.
Thank you. Okay I've filled out the first page, Section B - filled out my details, Section C - Yes agree that its appropriate for small claims, Section D - No for determination without a hearing, Section E - Filled out my info for mediation, Section F - Basildon County Courts, No for expert evidence and 1 witness. Clicked whatever for G about the welsh stuff. So now I sent it off to CCBC@justice.gov.uk and dcblegal@dcblegal.co.uk. Is that all for now?
