Council Tax on Universal Credit Proof

Options
Not something that I had thought about but not sure how this works, with migration and proof of what you were claiming to get any reduction. Under ESA I pdf letters to council to confirm entitlement from ESA.  So how how is it done being on universal credit.

Each month on UC a statement appears on your online UC account ahead of your next payment.
You can download whichever statement you need as a pdf and forward to council.

Thank you I don't know if my existing claim would still be valid or submit a new claim or at what point I should inform them if I've migrated or they are informed by UC.

I also recently received an email about using the Councils E services which you think that currently sending them emails was an E service ? As it's not paper but I guess they give you more access to deal with it yourself, this I think everyone will be made to do also.

The council get the information about your UC payments directly/automatically from UC via the ATLAS computer system so you don't have to send the council anything about them yourself. (at least not usually).
As long as ATLAS keeps sending them the data they know you are still on UC so don't need a proof-of-entitlement letter every year.
I just informed the council that I had changed from ESA to UC, I don't recall having to send them anything at that time and have never had to send anything since.
My HB was given the 2-week migration run on and then stopped.
My CTS was changed from being 'passported' by IR ESA to being an income calculation (no 'passporting' from UC because it can be claimed by those who work).
I still get full CTS so don't pay any CT.
However some people have found that they do have to pay some CT after migrating to UC, whether or not that applies to you, and how much, will depend on your own councils CTS vs income calculation.
Different councils have different income limits/bands.

Thanks Newc,  very informative sometimes it's best to see what happens rather than stress yourself about what you assume is going to happen. I learned a hard lesson in the past about informing of changes sent off my bank statements but forgot the ESA letter was needed again having submitted it previous month. Three days later it was all suspended nearly four months to sort it out. Hope you're keeping well.
