EE cancel without charge and keep handset
Options
i got a message from EE stating the following
Hello from EE
On 11/2023, you took a new contract from us, we weren't able to supply your Contract Summary & Pre-Contract Information documents. These documents include details on your purchased product, plan, and other relevant information.
This was due to an issue on our side and we're very sorry about this. Rest assured, this doesn't impact your current service.
If you'd like to request a copy of these documents and/or would like to cancel without any charge your impacted service just call 0800 079 0296. Please aim to call us within 30 days.
Thanks, EE
I wasn't sure if it was a scam but saw the opportunity to cancel and wondered how that works.
I then got the same message on my husbands device several days later and i gave them a call. Turns out due to a error and ofcom involvement they allow you to cancel the contract and keep the device without prejudice. I took both of them down to sim only deals to save charging numbers or sims.
they also told me i would have the ability to upgrade to another handset as and when i choose.
so basically i have now saved £100 a month for the next 18 months due to a glitch.

If you get this message just call the number and ask to opt out and cancel contract or downgrade to sim for a saving at a time when its been a god send with ever rising bills.
