Debt Recovery Plus - PAY NOW!

Hi, can anyone help me with some advice regarding a parking fine. I got a parking fine from 'Private Parking Solutions London Ltd' and have since received 4 letters from 'Debt Recovery Plus' asking for £170.
Yes, I did enter a industrial estate, but I only pulled over to one side (not into a parking bay) for less than 4 minutes. I did not exit my vehicle at all, and also had my hazard lights on the whole time - due to an engine issue. After 4 minutes I left the estate. I received a parking charge notice a few days later.
Should I pay the £170 to avoid court proceedings? Has anyone actually been taken to court by Debt Recovery Plus? or should I at least contact them to advise them that I wont be paying it?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Debt collectors cannot issue a court claim, only the claimant parking company, PPS Solutions, plus their lawyers if contracted, so ignore and file away debt collectors letters , debt collectors are powerless
No contact whatsoever

Thank you for your quick response, this gives me reassurance so thanks.
So there is a chance that PPS could take me to court then? Is it just the case of waiting then?0 -
Correct, PPS could do so, probably employing a lawyer firm , but no chance that DRP Ltd can or will do so, they are not allowed to do so, the DVLA contract with the parking company forbids the alleged debt being passed on
So only the claimant can do so2 -

You were correct, I have now received the LBC from CST Law asking for payment /questioning if Im going to pay / my financial information, etc, etc.I will now do the following, but had some questions which I hope you can help me with:
- I will now send the SAR to Private Parking Solutions (London) Ltd
- I will send a 30 day debt holding email to CST Law
As per the **NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Forum pages, why do you advise not to send the '30 day debt holding response' via Letter? Not sure if I really want them having my email address, will they not bombard me with email chases?Should I also send the SAR via email, or would you suggest by letter?0 -
are with the BPA, and are on the naughty list - they have no privacy policy on their website (well they do, but it's awful), and therefore no 'legitimate interest' legal basis to share you personal data with any third party, whether CST Law or DRP.Private Parking Solutions (London) Ltd

You won't send a SAR @Nee2
That's not the current advice. See the NEWBIES thread again and nothing is done snail mail. Of course it's by email.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You do not want ANY evidence. Nope.
Just use the one already written for everyone, in the second post of the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Does it really matter though? What is the purpose of replying to the LBA? There is no point whatsoever unless the aim is to spook them away from making a claim by demonstrating that it'll be decently defended. They'll need to provide the evidence if they do make a claim anyway (or at least make it all the way to witness statement stage).
Personally I think there is ammo in a claimant failing or refusing to provide the actual contract for a contractual claim (a "key document" in the PAPs).
I also think it's an idea to reply to their inevitably failure to provide the evidence with a costs assessment should you have to travel back to the car park to view the alleged contract @45p per mile round trip plus 1 hour at the standard £19.1 -
But they will provide the contract (the sign). Which then ruins the first point of defence that a person would have v a CST Law claim where no detail is provided in the POC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
