Energy Price Cap from October 2024

Well, personally I think that unit prices in Jan-Mar will be higher than in Oct-Dec. But this is based on 1. My natural pessimism, and 2. The strong possibility of a Trump presidency destabalising things generally (see point 1!)EssexHebridean said:

Apologies to Play Your Cards Right, but.... higher or lower?
But I'm interested to know what other people think.0 -
I would think trump would do the opposite to Biden, who has openly upped the anti on Russia.What_time_is_it said:

Trump will pop over and visit Russia and North Korea in the first two years and be mainly focused on America not the outside world imo.
That said around £1700 for the notional average household would be my best educated and fair wind guess.

Hi tseb, the percentages shown in Cheap Energy Club are individual to you - it will be based on the info you have entered into your account, including where you live and your annual energy usage. So the 18% rise in October Price Cap is an estimate, based on published predictions, and specific to your region and your usage.tseb said:Does anyone know why moneysavingexpert site says that the October increase will be 10% and the Cheap Energy club page says it will be 18%?I thought ML was supposed to be making it easier to decide to stick or twist suppliers.
The 10% rise in October shown on the MSE website is also an estimate, based on published predictions, but it is an average for the whole of the UK, based on a dual-fuel household paying by Direct Debit, using typical annual consumption (2,700 kilowatt hours of electricity, 11,500 kilowatt of gas).
I hope that helps?
