XCover.com request non existing document

I had my flight Ryanair delayed 14 hrs and they agreed to Eu261 compensation to be paid in 28 days. However I have a travel insurance XCover to claim for hotel booking refund, the insurance declined my claim without proof of cancellation, delay or rescheduling, clearly stating the reason for the change in departure. I asked many times for this to Ryanair and the customer service say they do not provide this. So the insurance sold by Ryanair ask me for a document that Ryanair does not provide and deny any claim. I need to claim for the hotel booking so not a lot of money but i pay the insurance and the insurance well know they are requesting me something i cannot produce: what can I do?

Did you actually travel on the delayed flight?

If not and you are looking to claim back the hotel costs at the arrival destination, then you should be seeking a ‘no-show’ or cancellation letter from Ryanair.
