    You ought to compare the cost of getting a new heat pump as a drop-in replacement to paying £900 to repair something that may be likely to fail again.  You might be able to get a heat pump with a 5 or even 10 year warranty in which case you would only have to pay for an annual service instead of that expensive maintenance contract.
