Car Hire company cancelled my booking

Was wondering what are my rights when a car hire company (Vip-cars) has cancelled our booking in Croatia "due to the high season". They offered an alternative for £100 more. We paid deposit on a credit card. The t&cs on their website only state terms of customer's cancellation not on their part.. Appreciate any help..

VIP-cars are just a broker aren't they?  So it would have been the car hire company that cancelled the booking

yes, they are brokers, and they said  "the car that you requested is not available with the Rental company due to the high season"

It's instances such as this that put me off using brokers.  I find it so much easier dealing with companies directly when it comes to resolving issues.  For car hire I tend to go with Hertz but I do check other large companies to make sure the Hertz prices are reasonable.
