Not suggesting that's what the OP has done, just to be clear, just considering their reason for not refunding differently.
Yes I understand about the whole money laundering thing, thankfully the situation has been resolved in this cas eas they could see the chain of events was very unusual

Sounds like a good example of where the angry complaint and call for a boycott gets you nowhere, but sensible discussion can get a lot of goodwill and a decent result.0
