Switching from sky a to sky stream - impossible it seems!

Currently have sky a but out of contract, am renovating the house do don’t want to put up a sky dish again so want sky stream, am aware of its limitations.

spoke to sky on the phone, guy didn’t know about sky stream so had to be put through to someone else, eventually got someone who had heard of it, said that setup fee is £39.99 and is non negotiable! I pointed out all they would do is stick it in the post and I would have to set it up myself but he said he didn’t know how it worked and it’s £39.99…

gave up with him and thought we would try to do it all online but when we choose the ‘get sky stream’ option in the website it just tries to sell us sky glass which we have no interest in, it will never let us order sky stream.

anyone know if a switch from sky q to sky stream is actually possible?

Wonder if you phoned up and told them you want to cancel Sky altogether?

They might get round to offering you a deal on Sky stream just to keep you as a customer?

Just had a look on the Sky website and stream currently has a £0 set up offer.

    $ky A is that a tier (on the keyboard) below $ky Q

Have you asked on the $ky Community (forum).  There's bound to be more $ky users on that... ;)

It's Sky mate, looks like you are hitting the Shift and number 4 key for some reason there.

Surely they would care more about GBP than USD.

I have just tried it myself to see if it works and as you say goes straight to sky glass which is weird. I would suggest live chat, call them again or visit the sky sales people that may be in your local shopping centre etc and speak to them about it. Alternatively try Now tv as they now offer UHD and Dolby Atmos

we did - although we had to do it over the phone. It was very annoying though as they would not budge on the £39.99 'set up' fee (although all they do is send a box out and we have to plug it in) and even worse, you have to sign up for the UHD package at £6 per month "but its ok, you can just cancel it as soon as you are signed up" - yes, you can cancel it, but it still runs for the first month so you don't get the money back and now we have paid £6 for something we don't use even though we cancelled it immediately.

Shouldn't expect anything less from Sky I suppose...

On a positive, we really like Stream, works great, no problems here, very easy to use and our whole setup looks much nicer without wires.
