Real PAYG sim, not monthly

Does anyone do real PAYG tariffs any more? No data needed, just to get occasional text messages and for emergency calls.
Thanks

Answering my own question here. Took some digging but I found Tesco Lite tariff.

Most networks have payg call and text rates but they can be prohibitively expensive and they will try to sell you a monthly bundle. Personally I would go with rwg mobile, a £1 topup gets you the sim with rates at 5p per minute and 5p per text. No further topup requirement just one chargeable call or text every 90 days.
Tesco lite would be my second choice, in that you need to topup £5 at least and it is a faff to get onto.

    Thanks.
I'm going to try the Tesco Lite as I have an old dumb phone that I got when I was on Tesco mobile and never unlocked.

Giffgaff. As long as you make a call/text/or data connection every 6 months your credit doesn't expire
