Having not yet invested this years ISA allowance and given the recent political changes, should I invest now or wait??

I can't imagine they could make any changes to ISAs before April. If they were to suddenly say that the ISA limit is reduced to £5k (for example) then those that have already used their allowance would be placed in breach of the regulations when they simply followed the rules as they were at the time.
I personally will be adding to mine as Regular Savers mature between August and tax year end.0 -
Cash ISA - now, rates are currently on a downward trajectory.
S&S ISA - depends on multiple factors more to do with you than any change in government.0 -
Seems unlikely that there will be any change to ISA limit.MissHap said:Having not yet invested this years ISA allowance and given the recent political changes, should I invest now or wait??
Markets have been very stable since the election was announced 6 weeks ago and the Labour win.

Probably should have bit the bullet when they were over 5% still, only about £50 difference.0

I always invest mine soon as I can, maximising my tax free gains. The only benefit of the ISA is being exempted from the taxes. Cash, interest rates are not the very best in ISAs but mitigate the tax potential liable on interest. Funds, Stocks and shares, the ISA has nothing to do with how they behave.MissHap said:Having not yet invested this years ISA allowance and given the recent political changes, should I invest now or wait??
Like the man said now is the best time to start.0 -
Do you mean invest, ie risk based such as S&S ISA, or save, as in easy access or fixed term Cash ISA?MissHap said:Having not yet invested this years ISA allowance and given the recent political changes, should I invest now or wait??
Statistically, the best time to invest is as soon as you have the money available. As interest rates are likely to fall in the near future, rather than rise steeply, then the same is probably true for Cash ISA.
What would you be waiting for? And for how long?1
