An Ethernet cable can be had on eBay or Amazon for not a lot.
Sometimes they even come up on Freegle.
    I'm afraid you've lost me...?

Are you able to run a cable to your TV box and see if the issue still occurs with that?
BT wanted that back after my contract with them came to an end & I cancelled the TV package else they were going to charge me a daft 3 figure price for it.
If you're running over WiFi then connecting via a cable instead would eliminate or suggest wireless as the issue.
The network cable which you would use to connect the router to the streaming box is called "Ethernet".
I assumed, based on your comment, that you'd returned the cable to BT, so was letting you know that they're not particularly expensive or you might even be able to get one for free (Freegle and Freecycle are websites where you can occasionally get such things for free).

I watch (Netflix / Disney+) on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro which is connected to the TV via HDMI and to the BT (Smart Hub 2) router via cat6 cable. Not completely directly - behind my TV is a switch in to which the TV, the Soundbar, the Nvidia Shield are all plugged (via Cat6 for each) which in turn connects to a faceplate on the wall which then routes under the flooring to where my router is located in the hall.

No I wasn't meaning that when I said you've lost me.

I meant I wasn't quite sure why you were posting about ethernet cables when I've already said basically anything that has the option of cable IS cable.

Ah - I saw "No extra devices have been connected to the WiFi, everything that was cabled before still is", but must've missed the finer detail; my bad.
But it seems like you've got that angle covered
