BT to EE Mid Contract Offer.

I too have been offered a deal to move to EE now even although my BT contract doesn't expire for another 6 months. On the face of it the deal looks good as its only another 50p a month and I can lock in for 2 years (not forgetting the increase every March). I have a couple of queries though. Can't find the answers in FAQ's.
1. Current download guarantee from BT is 42 Mgps. Actual is a little better. EE contract guarantees 40 Mgps. Contract states I retain existing hub. Will I notice any difference to download speed?
2. Will I be able to keep my BT email address?

Probably not to both questions, the second one you can pay more to retain but I think its something like £7.50 a month?

The easy solution is set yourself up a Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook email address and pull in your emails, decide what you want to keep and use that in future as you can then change provider until the cows come home and you won't lose it (providing you remember to sign into it every 270 days or so)

There's no difference between the 2 as they are the same entity, BT broadband will eventually become an EE brand .

So no change in speed, same hub , same connection 

I've seen no plans to discontinue the BT email brand , it will be retained as a legacy name once the 2 have merged.

BT have there own forum too - Welcome to BT’s official support community.

But to answer the questions asked, if it's same equipment you probably won't notice anything & it's been reported on the BT forum if moving to EE BT emails are kept free of charge
