That’s not my problem you don’t understand. I’m on here to see if I have a case to sue them not explain to you why I have come up with a figure I think is fair. Thanks
You asked for advice if you had a case. Maybe yes, maybe no but if your argument in court is I'm entitled to 1/6th then you will be asked why. If you don't want to expand further them how can people say if you have a case.

Sargassum has been really high in Rivera Maya for many years, it's not new news. Legally in Mexico all beaches are public which adds certain complexity for those wanting to clear it but then cannot stop anyone who wants to come and use the beach.

We all know there are "5 star" and then there are 5 star... the hotels that cost a coupe of thousand a night, not for a 10 night stay, are far from anywhere else and they do spend the time/effort to clear their beaches. Those in towns like Cancun, Playa, Tulum etc are generally much more tick box exercises to get their ratings and won't spend large amounts for anyone to rock up and use their temporarily clean beach.

The area generally is a for tourist creation but have spent many months there, for very little. Who'd go for a buffet there? You can go to a great taquería, stuff yourself silly, have a skinful of beer and still have change from £10 pp

I don’t think I’ve to answer that. It’s my assumption between me and Tui
Assumption is the mother of all ****ups ....................allegedly.
If you could name the hotel/resort that would be helpful.
The seaweed on the beach - as above, if that land is not owned by the hotel there is the issue of who is going to meet the expense etc. of clearing it.
I believe there is an official complaints procedure in Mexico, similar (ish) to that in Spain - worth investigating ?
If it is appropriate, I doubt the TUI rep or hotel management would be volunteering that information during your stay.

Without all the facts nobody can give you their opinion on whether it is  reasonable or not.

But that is all you get on a forum. The opinion of theose who post.

The person who would decide if you had a cse is the judge who is hearing the case and he will want to know all the facts and how you arrive at the amount you are claiming.
