TUI Flight Diversion

Hi. Looking for people in similar situation.
TUI flight from Paphos to Newcastle on Thursday 27th June TOM1365.
Diverted to East Midlands. Arrived at final destination 9 and half hour late!
TUI being divisive and difficult in spite of Dep of Transport rules clearly indicating that compensation is due. Will not even give explanation why they will not accept claim. Would like to hear of your experiences. Know of another party with same problem.

why was the flight diverted? depending on the reason will determine if compensation may be due

Not at all clear until the reason for diversion is known. Was it a reason within TUI's control?

I have just won my case for this flight today and been awarded €400 so I hope the full plane gets it. They said part of one of the delays was a bird strike earlier but did not provide any proof. They blamed Newcastle airport closure for the delay when we got diverted to East Midlands. Not extraordinary circumstances now 👍🏻
