I am struggling to find manufacturer or any number on the lock I just removed from my internal door. Where I can find lock number ?
I can see the face plate have Union lock symbol, but no number there either. Not even sure of lock and plate are of different period..? Please help. Thanks.

It will be cheaper to buy a new lock; many come with 3 keys. Just take down to Screwfix, Toolstation or a local lock shop and buy what you need3

Internal locks are often pretty basic and low security. If you can pull it apart, it may be possible to cut a new key blank. But probably more effort than it is worth unless it was an antique lock. Yours looks to be fairly modern, so an off the shelf replacement is easily obtained - Just watch the distance between spindle & door edge.

I wanted to do the same once, went to wilko's and bought a new lock, before swapping them I tried the new keys in the old lock. They worked, job jobbed but doesn't fill one with confidence regarding security…3

There is little point in locking internal doors from a security point of view. Secondly, make sure escape routes are not compromised if you do.Signature on holiday for two weeks2

I received my New 'Union 2077 3 Lever Horizontal Mortice Lock' costs £50, which I bought from eBay. Interestingly its marked with Union symbol only on the face plate and no number anywhere.!
Also this lock marked as 'Made in England' came from Germany!! I can see cylinder area is tilted to one side as well.
I am fearing if this is a fake one..?

Another question is ..Is there any high street locksmith that can generate key if I present lock to them..? I found another internal lock without key, So rather than paying another £50 if its economical hopefully I can get key made from the lock if I get these to any high street chains. Thanks.0
