Being acutely aware cards can drop out of a phone case I only carry one routinely - the one I use for the joint account for groceries etc Plus my bus pass card as that’s the way I most often travel nowadays apart from walking.
If we’re going to a supermarket or other large shop I keep my phone plus traditional wallet down the bottom of my rucksack to avoid accidental loss or theft by pickpockets - they sometimes steal phones from jeans back pockets by us.
Plus in the phone case a £5 and a £10 note.
I also carry a tiny soft leather coin purse I bought in Halle (near Berlin). So quick that way to get your hand on a selection of change.

I’ve not carried wallet or physical cards for few years now can be annoying when need cash but it’s very rare prefer not carrying id or anything of value pay for things using Apple pay
