Dogs teeth cleaner.

My wife has taken our dog to the vet for his 6 monthly health check today and the vet advised her to get some teeth cleaner for him.

The vet said that you can get drops that you put with water that will help clean his teeth but my wife can not remember what the drops was called and to be honest i have never heard of drops for teeth before.

so does anyone know if any drops and if so does it work doing it this way as our dog will not like us trying to brush his teeth.

The water additive is readily available - there are a number of brands - but again they only help. Nothing cleans teeth except brushing! What these products do is help to loosen some of the plaque build up and prevent some more building up. But there isn't a magic wand, and brushing in addition is the only way to go. 

It is so not at all cheap, but the number one recommended toothbrush is the Emmi - a sonic toothbrush for dogs which is silent and doesn't require any "scrubbing" of the teeth which can potentially cause gums to bleed. But it really does work if you can run to the expense. My nearly 9 year old uses the seaweed and Emmi and has not a scrap of staining or plaque on his teeth, much to the amazment of the vet. But if you can't run to that, just basic toothbrushing for a dog is fine. But it really is essential and there is no way around it.

Our pup's groomer does her teeth, she has a sonic toothbrush, each dog has their own brush head. Pup doesn't object and she has sparkling teeth!
