Everest 2020 Administration No Warranty

We had doors and windows replaced by Everest 2020. The back door was fitted in Feb, the windows in March 2024 and the front door was fitted Early April 2024. We had paid the deposit to the sales rep on the day he gave us the quote, then so much up front as they wouldn't place the order until we paid, the final payment was due after fitting and when we were happy with the fitting. We had a draught at the back door so we got the fitters back to adjust it and then the front door lock was faulty and we were unable to unlock it, so we had to get the fitters out again to fix it. This was on Mon, 29th April and we expected Everest to call us for the final payment that week, but they didn't so my husband rang to make the final payment on 1st May. He got an automated message saying they had gone into administration and this was the first we had heard of it! We didn't hear anything until mid June when the administrators Resolve sent us a letter threatening court action if we didn't pay our final payment by the end of the week! My husband rang Resolve asking about the guarantee we should receive upon final payment, the man was very rude and only interested in getting the money, he said we should contact FENSA or Anglian who had bought part of the business. They have agreed to take over the fitting of people who had ordered but not been fitted yet. Anglian don't want to know as we have been fully fitted and just say what's your problem you have your doors and windows. FENSA have said that our work wasn't registered with them so we have no guarantee. We weren't issued with a guarantee by Everest so we have no policy for the insurance backed guarantee. Our contract says that Everest issue the guarantee and FENSA certificate upon full payment. So we have paid most of our money to Everest who fitted the doors and windows and the final payment to Resolve and no warranty for the windows and doors that have already had faults on them. We went with Everest because of the reputation of quality and because of the 20yr guarantee offered by them. We paid a lot of money for triple glazing etc expecting that they would be fixed if any faults occur and now will have to pay out if they get faults.I know there is probably nothing we can do as our contract was with Everest 2020 who no longer exist, but this should not be right. I have also read that Anglian may not be guaranteeing the work that they are fulfilling for Everest customers so beware.

Speak to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service, you will need to put your complaint in writing and they will be able to offer advice on what you need to say. You are just being fobbed off. Receiving guarantees is part of the contract, it was an important part of your transactional decision making to go with Everest in the first place. Whoever is now responsible for your contract should be taking responsibility.0
