Joyful July's No-Spend Days Challenge!

I'm back after a 14 day break, what have I missed?
It's 28th July today and by my calculations I've somehow managed 19 No Spend Days this month, despite having some blow-the-budget spendy days.
We went away for a mini holiday to visit our daughter and watch her graduate. It was a very emotional ceremony and cried tears of pure joy. Noisy, snotty, red-faced, puffy eyes tears of pure joy, complete with runny eye make-up. Luckily, we'd had the "proud parents" photos earlier that day!
Spent a small fortune in the days we were there- lots of champagne, celebratory drinks and meals, graduation presents, photo sessions, travel etc.
Then there were a couple of big family birthdays to celebrate while we there 💰 But it was money I had set aside for this purpose- and in the end I didn't spend most of it.
The day we came home we had to start preparing for when our son leaves for university in September. A couple of trips to his university city to look at accommodation options (HOW MUCH? For one box room?!!! 😲) meant further expense. Usually he'd just go by himself, but as most places now require a Guarantor to sign the paperwork and agree to pay any debts their son or daughter might get, I had to be there with him.
Luckily, he's managed to find a place with a roof, running water and electricity that is within his price range, but it's still ridiculously expensive.
Went to a Green Festival yesterday, a local event with lots of eco-friendly stalls, activities and talks. Took a picnic, but still ended up buying some soaps and deodorant (necessary hygiene supplies 😊) and a big slice of cake (not necessary, but delicious!)
After possibly my most spendy month ever- except when I "accidently" bought this house- I'm going to have to keep an eye on the bank balance for the next few months.

Hi Cathybird, Not today my treat tearoom stop while visiting garden centre with MD, also junk food stop at garage on the way home, which I do regret but I am still enjoying and I wished I didn't enjoy so much 😒😒😒😒 fruit would be much better.....🍓🍓🍓🍍🍍🍍🍒🍒🍒🥭🥭🥭 now come to think of it my only excuse for not buying fruit from MandS is that it is an added expense, the next time I want garage snacks I will treat myself to fruit.1
