Family SUV Advice

Hi,

Looking to get a family SUV, got a one year old boy so the current car is not feasible especially the boot space.

Looked into
Tiguan R Line 2021  (Boot space/ under 25k) 1.5 Petrol - Ticks all the boxes.
BMW X1 - smaller boot space than Tiguan, cost is similar for a 2021 model
Audi Q3 - smaller boot space than Tiguan, cost expensive.
BMW X3 - expensive

Criteria
Petrol - average 8k mileage per year not using for work/ daily long distance commute. will be using for family trips.
Cost - want something less than 25k
Age - 2021/2020, don't want anything older than 2020.
Mileage - looking for something around 40k Mileage mark.
Boot space - want something with a reasonable boot space especially we are planning to have a second baby in the future.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Hyundai Tuscon might fit the bill:

boot space 620l or 1799 with seats down (slightly bigger than the VW)

    Skoda Karoq

    520/1630l

40k miles, 2020 should cost £14k. Could buy newer but personally I'd save £10k

Skoda Octavia, over any of those SUVs. Boot is cavernous, it’s cheaper to run and a better drive as it’s not on stilts. You really don’t need an SUV at all. They offer very few - if any - objective advantages over a large car.
Lifting a 1 yr old in and out and then trying to buckle them in is much easier in an SUV

I'd take the Hyundai Tucson out of anything mentioned so far. Would also still be in warranty.

Ours is now 8 years old, quality wise been very good and far better than a friends similarly aged Tiguan. Will replace it with another one when the time comes.

As an Audi owner as well, its as well built as that. For an SUV in the VAG group, buy a Skoda, you get nothing extra with the VW. Unless its a badge thing.

Agreed. I ran an Octavia estate for 8 years with kids. Very few SUVs would have matched it for space.

It's a very transient problem.  You'll soon need to be carting around cellos and camping equipment and wishing you had a big estate

Just had a quick look at the tucson petrol inbuilt hybrid 1.6 TGDI 2021 model and looks really nice. Will go and check it out.

I’m also in the market for a SUV with new granddaughter on the scene. The Civic Type R will not do.

I have narrowed the choice down to Skoda Karoq Sportline or a Seat Ateca Experience. Both cars score highly on Parker’s reviews, in fact higher than the cars you listed. I’m open to a new car up to 2 years old, whenever I see the car for me. The Skoda Karoq is particularly pleasing.
