Octopus Partnerships

The only gripe for octopus and heatpumps is their choice of units. They either oversize with a Daikin as has previously been discussed with the fact many of them are the same heatpump with the same minimal power usage and now the cosy 6, not the most efficient on the market.
However they will be cheap to install, just a little more expensive to run. Where those two disect and meet on the graph for when having a cheaper imstall ends up costing you more who knows. It might be 5-7 years down the line.

Never had a safegas engineer demand a deposit before he came to check the house to give a new quote for a boiler, I realise radiators may need to be changed, although their hot running (Cosy) heat pump is supposed to largely avoid this - is it actually available in different sizes or designed to run to suit the size of the house?
I've had my survey which took nearly 4 hours then more with me asking about it. The following day a lead installer was here investigating which was the best of two possible water tank locations. He did his investigation and he really knew his stuff. He then took a lot of time to walk me around my house and answer my latest geeky questions - he clearly loved his job and was happy to get into discussing the possible set-ups and ways to get the best system.
The survey is really detailed and comes back as a system design and proposal - but between the survey and printing the document they meet up and discuss it.
After all that I can still have my £500 back up to 24 hours before installation. They imposed the charge to stop people who weren't serious from wasting their time. I'm fine with it. I got to know the tech team a bit and I'm impressed. Nice, smart, people.1
