Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd

Is it known how many different car park management companies currently deploy DCB Ltd to chase down alleged parking transgressors on their behalf?

As I've dealt first hand with DCB Ltd., and given them a clear understanding of what should and should not be in their correspondence, I know for sure that UK Parking Control Ltd is one.

Yes - lots. I assume you mean DCB Legal.  They are the actual roboclaim litigation lot.

No-one cares about DCB Ltd letters.

Even those with in-house Legal Teams use DCB Legal for some cases, such as

    UKPC
    VCS
    CEL
    ParkingEye

and other PPCs with no in-house legal team:

    CP Plus
    loads of smaller ones
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As the post header suggests, I am seeking information regarding Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd. I disagree profoundly with this forum's approach to their letters and am tackling the issue (with DCB Ltd not the forum) journalistically.

DCB Ltd are not a party to any contract allegedly breached between the driver and the PPC.

All visitors to this forum are advised to ignore DCBL and all the other scamming debt collectors. They are contracted, usually on a no-win, no-fee basis to prey on the gullibility of the majority who have no idea about their rights or civil contract law. They use scary words including "bailiff" and CCJ" in the expectation that their victims will poop their pants at being threatened with legalities and pay into the scam.

They are not doing acting illegal, per se. They operate on the assumption that most victims are low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree, ripe for picking. You should blame the education system that does not prepare anyone for adulthood and the mysteries of CCJs and powerless debt collectors.

Why are you even bothering with them? Good luck with whatever you hope to achieve.

We have done this for well over a decade and we know we are 100% right to tell people to ignore £170 debt demands but I very much salute you for fighting back. All good.

The fact they use 'Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away!' logo (when not acting as bailiffs) has already been addressed by the DLUHC in the new Code (in an appendix that the regulars here can no doubt tell, I hand a hand in).

So DCB Ltd won't be able to use that logo in future pre-action comms, once the new Code comes into force.

I'm 'bothering' with DCBL because there is substantial public concern over the way they operate, including their conduct, in causing alarm and distress to recipients of their communications, reaching the threshold for remedy by way of the Protection of Harassment Act, 1997. Luck is not required, simply relaince on investigative skills and journalistic craft, but thanks anyway.

I would suggest that dozens of the possibly 180 private parking companies use DCB LTD to send out those alarmingly worded but powerless letters to people who haven't paid a private PCN promptly

There are other firms like ZZPS and some supposedly legal firms that also use similarly worded letters, but DCB LTD do seem to be used a lot by a lot of the private parking companies

I would suggest that NO , it is not known how many of them use DCB LTD for this task, except to say that DCB LTD probably do know their client lists so do know the answer , but if a thread similar to the one by Umkomaas asked for people who receive these letters were to add the parking company name to the DCB LTD thread, then if a tally was done, it would number in the dozens, or probably more than half of the private parking companies IMHO, having seen so many threads about them on various forums over the last decade

It could be harder to name a private parking company that NEVER uses DCB LTD !

Thanks for that input. It is helpful, insofar as the greater the number of the private parking companies that use DCBL, the more effective my journalistic campaign against them is likely to be. On a separate note, I have come across ZZPS and their solicitor partners, QDR. The latter have been served recently with a LBC over a debt they owe me for costs incurred in persuading them to consign their similar brand of nonsense to the bin.
