G24 PCN Double Yellow Lin

When PPCs are involved the double yellows are for no other purpose than to raise revenue. They have nothing to do with road safety or free flow of traffic or pedestrians, they are purely a money maker. A council will have to jump through hoops to apply yellow lines and provide signage in accordance with the law, motorists have certain rights in accordance with those laws. PPCs just slap down lines and start raking in the cash.Hoenir said:
Double yellow lines aren't painted for fun. Though there's an increasing number of drivers who seem to think that they indicate somewhere suitable to park. With a clear FU to other road users and pedestrians.fisherjim said:A total rip off by scammers no other word for it!

Stopping, dropping off/picking up passengers and/or goods are permitted activities on single and double yellow lines, which is what the OP was doing.Hoenir said:

The images were taken 17 seconds apart, within an approximate 90 second time window whilst the OP was looking for signage to determine whether the location was private or public.
This smells like a parking operative or a self ticketer hiding in wait who then nipped out, took a brace of photos, then vanished again. A decent human being/parking company would have warned the motorist that it was a private road, but they deliberately failed to do so.
This had nothing at all to do with parking management, otherwise there would have been adequate signage readable from the adjacent public road to prevent exactly this sort of thing from happening. It has everything to do with a clear FU to unsuspecting motorists.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
