    I do not have a dog in this race. I've often wondered if I need to get an IFA. Mo' Money, Mo' Problems mentality.

    However I think if you listen to finance podcasts, watch the news, read a few books, find fun in spreadsheets, engage in forums, you're better trained than most of the darts you'll throw at a board looking for an IFA - or anyone with a certficiate who doesn't engage in all of the above.

    Also asking questions in here and allowing yourself to take any kind of left hook on the chin really helpful. If your double check query on here is greeted with silence, then you're probably correct.
