Parking Eye Appeal Unsuccessful - Next Steps

I parked in a car park with ANPR cameras and read the signage which indicated the costs for parking. I was in the car park for up to 3 hrs and just before leaving I went to pay at the machine I entered my reg No and the machine stated £2.00 was owed (which was the amount for up to 2 hrs) so I paid but kept the ticket as I was suspicious it was incorrect. Sure enough I got a parking fine through the post from Parkingeye. So I appealed and used photos and explained the machine stated the payment was £2.00 and how could I pay more when that's what the machine stated. They have since rejected the appeal but given no explanation other than I overstayed, but have not addressed my point about the machine and the appeal is closed.
I can go to POPLA and appeal but that will mean I have to pay the full amount of £100 if the appeal is unsuccessful. My concern is did I miss something on the machine when paying where I had to input the number of hours stay after they have entered the car reg? Every other ANPR car park has always displayed the correct charge, even the ticket I have shows the length of stay. Has anyone come across that on a parking machine before?... if so I will just pay the £60 fee and won't bother with the appeal to POPLA and save myself the extra £40. If not then I will appeal to POPLA.

We need to see pictures of the signage to check the terms and conditions
I assume that they didn't offer the £20 major keying error option. ?
Even if you lost at Popla there is no compulsory reason why you should pay £100, not unless a judge said so in court
Have you tried plan A. ? As explained in the newbies sticky thread in announcements , complaining to the landowner and getting it cancelled
If your defence is based on a faulty machine on a pay on exit car park, and the signs back you up , then you might win
But plan A is the best option here1 -
Wasn't a MAXIMUM stay of 2 hours was it? That's the only explanation I can think of.0

@ Gr1pr please see pics of signage attached. No major keying error option offered at any point, I assume as that is because the car reg was correct. I've not tried Plan A so will go and find the newbies sticky threads option and do that I assume it will tell me how to find out who the landowner is?
The problem I have is I don't know if the machine is faulty or if I was supposed to have input the number of hours parked but the ticket clearly shows the time I left, so not sure why the machine did not calculate the charge. The appeal is closed and they have avoided my question re how was I supposed to pay for 3 hours when machine shows an amount for 2 hrs. I have tried to ask a question via another route into Parkingeye but I used todays date and they have responded asking for car reg so they will sus what I'm doing when I give them the reg and date and will probably decline to answer as appeal is closed. I'd try and ask if you have to add the number of hours at the machine using a Freedom of Information (FOI) request but don't have sufficient time to get the appeal in without risking the increase as FOIs take up to 20 days. I appreciate your comments here on I don't have to pay the full amount unless a judge tells me too but I don't want it to come to that as I work in the public sector so need to keep my nose clean.
Thanks

You will keep your nose clean by following the processes and our advice, especially if you lost in court, prompt payment is essential after losing in court, it maintains a clean nose. ! Its a civil dispute, not a criminal matter
You should assume that the machines were faulty because its pay on exit the amount on the machine, which you did, so not your problem, it's theirs
As for landowner information, study the advice in this thread below
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6337652/how-to-find-details-of-landowner
Is it a hospital. ? If so its PALS or HR estate management, or the CEO
You cannot FOI a private parking company

ANPR as we all know on here is not fit for purpose in car parks, that's why authorities are banned from using it by the government.Parking Eye's system of an unregulated camera on a pole, with a charging system that may or may not be synchronized properly (who knows) is renown for failing!I don't know where your incident happened but here are two separate examples of exactly the same error:Notice that both were cancelled at the POPLA stage, Parking Eye are disgraceful greedy bullies!
