Telephone hearing coming up next week, is there a thread to help with that? Not sure what to have prepared, thank you0

Offer nothing at all, no compromise, end call politely after saying it
Its that simple, nothing to prepare, nothing to agree on1 -
The OP says it's their hearing. Not mediation. Seems very early though so you might be right that this is likely only tedious waste of time, Mediation!Gr1pr said:Offer nothing at all, no compromise, end call politely after saying it

Hearing stage is covered in the NEWBIES thread. So is Witness Statement and evidence stage.
If it's only Mediation please go back to the Template Defence thread. All covered.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Agreed, the OP should have mentioned the mediation word, not hearing, IMHO its mediation, otherwise the OP would have prepared and submitted the WS bundle and received the claimants bundle etc, so would already have prepared
Its far too early in the process for an actual hearing, by telephone or in person2 -
Why are people getting so uptight and nervous about a mediation phone call? It is not a trial. There are no judges or lawyers involved. It is simply some bod who has been on a course lasting one or two days on the art of "mediation".
The only requirement from the court is to "attend" the call. There is no requirement to do anything else. Simply offer £0 or that you'll accept £100 from the claimant and it will all be over in less than 5 minutes. You "attended" and that's the end of the matter.4 -
I reckon plenty of duped defendants think the daft pointless Mediator phone call is the hearing. I bet loads of defendants actually think they have to make an offer, too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes sorry it is mediation0

Not sure why but DCB legal attempted to call me. It was automated and asked if this was ‘my name’ I declined the call.0

But you'll know from reading other DCB Legal threads what happens. Nothing is new or unexpected, surely?
I hope you've re-read the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread now?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
