Can I stop a drop down box appearing on MSE Forum? (Solution now given in post 3)

Edit. I have been given a solution in post 3. I will leave the thread for others to read.
Windows 10 and Chrome browser.
If I move my cursor over Quick Links or Categories, a drop down box appears that prevents me easily selecting what I want to select.
The drop down box does not appear if the cursor moves over MSE Forum, Forum Rules or Help or anywhere else on the screen.
Other than avoiding moving the cursor over those two links, is there a way of preventing that drop down box appearing?

The Quick Links (but not Categories) drop down has a "Turn this Menu Off" checkbox at the bottom.1
