It would be good to know if you are travelling as a family and if so ages of the children. What do you like to do on holiday and what do you like to eat?The Black Isle Wildlife park closed several years ago. There are a few free things to do on the Black Isle ( not an Island!) a visit to the Clootie Well at Munlochy, walks at Rosehaugh Estate near Avoch. Dolphin/wildlife boat trips out of Avoch. Dolphin spotting, free, from Chanonry Point shingle beach. Futher East along the coast at Rosemarkie there is a sandy Beach and a good Beach cafe for snacks. Rosemarkie also has a Pictish Museum and RSPB reserve at The Fairy Glen which is a nice walk ( free carpark nearby). If you are into detective novels Ian Rankin mentions some Black Isle places in a couple of his novels, he has a holiday home at Cromarty. Soutars Creek at Cromarty is good for casual dining. Neil lancaster mentions lots of Black isle places in his Dead Mans Grave novel (part of a trilogy) The Old free North Church in Inverness is mentioned in Outlander. Kessock Hotel at North Kessock has good food in a casual dining setting. Cawdor Castle, not far from Inverness, is interesting and has nice grounds. The Singleton Distillery at Muir of Ord might be worth a visit if it would be of interest.Hope you have a great holiday.1
