Son has just insured his bike, been off the road a year. He has 14 days to provide proof of NCD- he has about 7/8 years. However, his last insurance was all on his phone, no paperwork. That phone was lost, and son can't remember who he was insured with now. Adding to that, he last yearclosed his old bank account and opened a new one with another bank. So he can't even look back at the old D/Ds to see where they went. Tried it and the bank said acc closed - can't be done.
What can he do to try and trace the old insurer? The new place wants £1000 to cover with no NCD.

Anything on emails?  That's where I normally look.

  • He must have had emails if he wasn’t getting paper copies of the insurance documents.

Perhaps he needs to be a bit more careful with his "paperwork", people have all kinds of issues with pensions when it comes ot claim them, if he has no evidence of anything it could result in real issues - not picking on your son just saying maybe its time for a change.

He says all lost. I think he can't retrieve anything in that old phone.

I need to ask him if he also lost his password/login for his emails. I think maybe he did. If not then how can he access emails from 18 months ago, do you know? And thanks

How did he pay for previous insurance?

If monthly there may be a credit agreement visible on his credit file.
