Can’t pay Parking Maven fee

Good evening.

I’ve received a parking fine via Parking Maven today. It advises that the fine is £60 if paid before 27th June 2024.

I scanned my card to pay the parking fee at the time, but this must not have processed as it has not been deducted from my card/s. On this basis I do not dispute the fee itself.

The challenge I have is that I physically cannot pay the fine. If I scan the QR code, a message displays advising that the fine has already been paid/or has been appealed. I have done neither.

If I call the number, it doesn’t recognise the reference code. If I enter the website, it doesn’t recognise the reference code.

I will raise a communication via the website but is there anything else I should do?

I don’t really want to pay an extra £40 because I can’t get the payment systems to recognise the details.

Don't pay it at all. Seriously.

No-one here is going to encourage you find a way to pay Parkmaven. You DO have a problem with it because their system failed you.

Not your fault. No agreed contract to pay a PCN due to their failure.

Just ignore them and the threatograms.  Read the NEWBIES thread fourth post.

That's lucky. Very fortunate that you can't now pay.   :)

Why not appeal against the parking charge instead?
Clearly Parkmaven's payment process failed. Why should that mean you have to pay £60?

The opening post of the NEWBIES thread offers good guidance on how to appeal against the charge.

    Do not call them.
This is not a fine, but it should not be ignored
Do not attempt to identify the person who could have been driving, not on here or anywhere else ( never use terms like I did/she/he etc)
Do not pay - especially as you already have paid.

Having said all of that a little more info will be of use:
Where was the parking charge notice issued?
Whose car park was this? ( ie premier inn/beefeater pub etc)

Get a couple of screenshots of that. Might come in handy at some stage.

Thank you, All. I have a screen shot of the error message and of my attempting to pay.

It was issued in a shopping centre in Loughborough.

@KeithP I can’t even lodge an appeal - the numbers on the letter aren’t accepted!

Delete the screenshot of attempting to pay the parking charge. Not useful.

    Attempting to APPEAL, yes.

No paying it.  You won't ever pay.

    It is not a fine.

If you have received a NTK through the post, then it will tell you how to appeal using the Parkmaven appeal portal, but that comes after the keeper has tried Plan A as explained in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES.
I have no idea what you mean about numbers not being accepted, unless you mean irrelevant 'phone numbers? Never, ever 'phone an unregulated private parking company, or any of their agents, ever.
