Fedex lost parcel, still demand customs fees

Thing here is this was a gift, why was it not marked as such? Instead of being marked as receiver to pay tax/duty.Life in the slow lane0

Anyway, a good update. Fedex, after some back and forth escalated my issue and finally resolved it. ControlAccount on the other hand weren't so cooperative at first, they weren't willing to accept proof from me but set an impossible deadline for me to convince fedex to talk to them or else I'd get fined, which is pretty insane but after some convincing they have since claimed the issue is now resolved.. My account still shows as active so time will tell but I'm in a better position now. Thank you to everyone who comment for your advice, it helped a lot and I really appreciate it2
