Cash in Morocco

You can take up to 2,000 Moroccan dirhams into or out of Morocco. The dirham is ‘non-convertible’ – it cannot be easily exchanged for other currencies.

You must declare foreign currency worth 100,000 Moroccan dirhams or more (about 10,000 US dollars) when you enter or leave the country. There is no limit on the amount of foreign cash you can carry.

You can get cash from ATMs and still enjoy a reasonable rate. 

You can also get some cash in advance before traveling there. 

Many currency exchange companies are providing to get travel money. I usually use ChangeGroup, they offer 0% commission when you order your money online and I think they even do currency delivery

So called 0% commission is a con if there's a big commission hidden in the rate, as there usually is!

Using an ATM is far more transparent, you get the VISA/Mastercard rate which is close to interbank and any charges on top are declared either in your bank's terms and/or the ATM when you withdraw.
