 I was not impressed yesterday. Earlier in the week I popped in to Tescos and did a self scan small shop an included one of these with the coupon. It didn't take it automatically and after the SA queried it with the Customer Services in the store she was told to put it through.

Yesterday I popped into restock on laundry products and went through the checkout as I had more goods. SA queried it, then gave it to line manager who in turn <apparentley> asked the store manager. He wouldn't let them through and wouldn't give a reason. I did argue for a little while and try and get an explanation but was ignored. Phoned Customer Services to be told that Tescos do not take 'outside' coupons, only accpet their own in house coupons, even if they are from the manufacturers?!?!? CS said I should take it up with Diet Coke as the coupon stated that it was available in all retailers when it wasn;t and therefore they are incorrect

Needless to say last week i went to Sainsburys and used one with my regular shopping. I shan't be using Tescos again :o
I have used them at Tesco a couple of times and it scanned fine. If it scans then it's fine - it soon complains if it isn't valid.

I did get challenged by a rather rude young boy supervisor today, he wondered why it was printed - I said it was from the internet to be used instore, so how else could it be used. He just wanted to show off to see how he could humiliate customers, rather than be discreet and helpful. I agree some Tesco branches could do with a lesson in dealing with people in a more professional way.

Yup, Sainsburys Murrayfield and Tesco Corstophine - although they sound like other side of the city to where you are!

edit - actually, looking at ur username they're probably more convenient but hey. they accepted just fine :D

    Tesco in Bathgate was fine.

Tesco Linlithgow were a bit sniffy but he was a jumped up supervisor interested in being petty and self important rather than caring for the customer.

Seems like the training and updates are lacking in Linlithgow.

I used one of these the other day with my big shop at Tesco Extra Norwich with no problems. Just wondering if any supermarkets will let you take this coupon in and just get the diet coke without actually buying anything?!

    Kevin.
  • I personally think there's more chance of the retailer rejecting a coupon that's been doctored in some way. Treat it as it is - an offer from Coke and the retailer - and explain to them how it works and the majority will accept them.

To that end, here's the original coupon without anything 'blacked out':

I don't normally use these upload services, so I can't vouch for how long it'll be up there for - I'd save this to your computer rather than download it multiple times though, so you have a copy until the end of January...

This is a voucher it should have been on the voucher forum, but it sounds to me like this has been taken advantage of somewhat...

I'd never dream about going into the supermarket every day in January with my OH in order to redeem 2 vouchers, get 120 bottles of Coke and save £30 on my monthly shop ;-)

I'm sure Coke and Tesco can cope ;-)

If you actually read through the forum here you will see that a great deal of retailers challenged the "internet coupon only" writing. I was simply blacking it out so that the checkout operators with an IQ of around 3 don't need to worry about what that actually means. If you don't want to use it then dont, but please don't try to backhandedly show me in a bad light because of it.
