It's a hypericum of some sort. I think it's H Perforatum, St Johns Wort, commonly used through Europe as a treatment for depression.
St John's wort really?  Well I'll be depressed  if it gets much bigger.
  • Also known as rose of Sharon. Mine is flowering too. Needs a good prune each year otherwise it’d take over. The birds and bees like it thouy
I'll give it a good chop when the flowers stop.

Malt, there wasn't one in your opening post when I replied. I think we cross posted.

Yes, St Johns Wort is the common name.
I let one self seeded grow because it was hardy and decorative. It didn't stay lovely for me the following year and is tough to remove.

It's also a herb of sorts.
Was worried there about the pictures only second attempt  at sending one.

Yes this one is a bit of a monster getting. I think it needs a haircut soon.

There's one near me, trimmed & used as hedge against a building. It's gorgons and full of bees.

If you have space & can keep it trimmed it would be a nice feature

Definitely St John’s Wort, we had a big bush of it in a bungalow we lived in a few years ago.
