I have cut my usage down from 20000kWh to about 8000 over recent years due to the price explosion. The fact they insist on monthly readings or they will charge you extra suggests to me that if I stopped restricting my usage over the winter months, they'd soon start panicking.

That's the thing, the numbers work for me.  I was expecting it to be more than my current bills just like your quote was.  A lot of the reviews with issues do seem to be related to people on non unlimited plans who got a surprise.  I am still very sceptical though.

Ran through their online quote - Just for gas & electricity, they are quoting £167.76 per month, plus a management fee of £8.75/mo.
Currently paying just £65 with Octopus per month, so their "deal" is far from competitive. And having skimmed some of the reviews on Trustpilot, I'm not going anywhere near them.
Reading the 5 star rating on Trust Pilot, says it all when you click on their other reviews they left - for the same company.

What would happen, me for example had my heating for 1 hour a day in the winter, they provide what I need to pay based on previous usage, so I know increase my heating on a few hours a day over the winter instead?

Right, sorry about the info dump but here goes:

    Quote from their email:

"You have unlocked unlimited energy with your chosen package, meaning you can use as much energy as you like, and you’ll only ever pay the same amount each month. Goodbye, nasty over-usage charges!

Your energy would be switched to one of our partners and setup on a fixed tariff. This means your price would remain the same throughout your contract with us and would not change based on the energy market."

    Offer:

Definition of Unlimited in the contract:

    Clauses:

It all actually seems above board.  Apart from these additional charges mentioned.  Clearly I have no contact with the actual supplier and I cannot switch providers.  But at this price I don't think I would need to for quite a while.
Some people don't want a TV licence and have a water meter and the monthly DD for water is less than £36.59 per month, in my case it's £11. Plus I don't have a TV licence as I don't watch live as shown TV or watch iPlayer.
My total electric and gas monthly bill is under £57, topping out at about £81 in winter. This type of payment would never appeal to me as my monthly DD for services is under £100, nearly two and a halt times less than what they wanted.
Someone please tell me what money is
  • Hi I wonder are you still using them?

i just cancelled my contract with them, on a fixed unlimited plan, your payment will keep increasing accourding to ofgem prices. they sold me a dummy that my price will be contant throughout my one year fixed plan, but that wasnt the case.
Despite me realising my usage is not up to the projected target.

i had to cought out £514 to cancel just 5 months with them

definately not going back to them.

Was this a business contract?  There's much less protection than for residential.

Hi Skelzy, I would appriciate if you can share your experiance wrt One utility bill actully paying your bills to the electricity/water companies. I've ran the numbers and for me their unlimited electricity and water plan might be worth it, however my concern is that they will not actually pay the electricity providers and my debt will build up with the providers without knowing (as I will not get the bills to my house or have access to my account). Can you comment on your experience from this aspect?
    Thanks.
