Anyone used oneutilitybill.co
Options
Moving to a new rental next month and via the agent I was contacted by oneutilitybill.co at first I thought it was a bit of a scam, but now I am not sure. They are an abstraction layer between the customer and group multiple bills into a single monthly payment. Initially I suspect they were for groups of friends etc sharing a house to make splitting the bill easier so ignored them. After some more research it looks like it could work for a family as well.
Currently they are offering me unlimited energy (gas/electric) usage (I made sure of this as a lot of the negative reviews seem to be from people who were on the limited package and got a shock at the end when they needed to true up), water rates and TV license all for less than my currently monthly energy bill. Currently I pay around £350/month for gas/elec and their quote is £250 for gas/elect/water/tv.
I just don't get how that could work it seems to good to be true. When asking them they said that it was just a quirk that worked out in my favour as usually the cost is more and people pay extra for the convenience.
Anyone had any experience with them good or bad?

Depends what unlimited means, as seems to good to be true. So someone could heat their swimming pool and charge everyones EV in the village 24/7?1

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
We are moving about 100ft away to basically the same house0

Are you able to share the exact terms and conditions they’ve offered you regarding the unlimited energy? I’ve had a look around their website and the information seems very opaque unless you opt to get a quote - apparently they only provide the terms of the offer at the registration stage, and that would naturally be the best place to start to see if the deal really is any good.
The only thing they do make clear is that the energy has to be for residential use and that it’ll cost more if you have an EV, so they clearly do impose some restrictions on the energy usage, but the key is in seeing exactly what those restrictions are and how they’re defined.Moo…0 -
Regarding unlimited usage, this is from their website:
Unlimited Renewable Energy
(Yes, really)Treat your energy bill like your mobile with our Unlimited Energy service.
- Pay a fixed price every month and use all the gas and renewable electricity you need.
- No usage limits, so no big bills at the end of your contract.
- Choose a predictable fixed tariff, or a flexible rolling tariff.

To be honest there is always a reason why companies are not upfront with the costs and it’s always because potential customers wouldn’t like them1

Yep, I have the quote and the sign up link. I will upload it as soon as I get home in around 1hr.0

Are they taking on E7 users? I could easily burn through 20,000kWh over winter with my 8 storage heaters on full if really unlimited.0

Right, sorry about the info dump but here goes:
Quote from their email:
"You have unlocked unlimited energy with your chosen package, meaning you can use as much energy as you like, and you’ll only ever pay the same amount each month. Goodbye, nasty over-usage charges!Your energy would be switched to one of our partners and setup on a fixed tariff. This means your price would remain the same throughout your contract with us and would not change based on the energy market."

Definition of Unlimited in the contract:

It all actually seems above board. Apart from these additional charges mentioned. Clearly I have no contact with the actual supplier and I cannot switch providers. But at this price I don't think I would need to for quite a while.0 -
Ran through their online quote - Just for gas & electricity, they are quoting £167.76 per month, plus a management fee of £8.75/mo.Currently paying just £65 with Octopus per month, so their "deal" is far from competitive. And having skimmed some of the reviews on Trustpilot, I'm not going anywhere near them. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.4
