Virgin broadband package/billing issues

I started an 18-month Virgin broadband contract in January 2023 for £24.95 a month. I moved home earlier this year and took my broadband with me. I thought that I would continue on my existing package/contract until it expired in July 2024, but Virgin have hiked my monthly fee up to £51 and signed me up for another 18-month contract.
I was not aware this would be happening and didn't agree to it or sign another contract. I've tried speaking to Virgin who say that happens when you move and that the cheapest they could offer me is £44 a month, which I cannot afford.
Does anyone have a similar experience and has managed to sort it out satisfactorily?

On their moving home page it says you can keep your existing contract, so you should not have to have set up a new one and your charges should have remained as they are.1

Finally managed to sort this out after A LOT of time talking to customer services multiple times. I ended up making a complaint and they then changed my contract so it ended when it should have and gave me a refund for the months I had been charged £51. Customer services at Virgin is appalling!0
