Salary Disclosure For Same Role

Hi,
Long story short. I job share my secretarial role but I also have a 2nd role which the other Secretary doesn't.
Everyone got a small pay rise recently.
I've a feeling everyone got the same but mine was split over 2 roles (separate rate). Therefore, I think my job share may have got slightly more for the 1 role to balance it out.
Do I have any rights in knowing the rate of pay for someone doing exactly the same job?
We were on the same before the raise.
Thanks

If the pay rise was a set percentage across the company it would have been applied to both roles surely. Maybe just ask your HR manager if this was the case.0

No you don't.
Most places I work we've talked to each other even if in %s and not actual amounts.0 -
Previous role I was on a lower grade to my colleagues, I always told them. We had different job titles and I wasn't bothered my manager tried to explain to me why I got less money never to my satisfaction. When a new member of staff at taken on to cover my role and those others in the department I had to train them. When I pointed that out to my manager and HR they said they'd look at my role. I think sharing this sort of information is useful but most people feel uncomfortable doing so. I never got that. Why be embarrassed or cagey most people at work have a shrewd idea, why not just be open.0

It's a very sensitive subject for most people.0 -
Usually no, but if you believe you have been discriminated against based wholly on a protected characteristic such as gender, race etc you might have some rights.LightFlare said:

ThanksGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -

Why do you think "everyone got the same"
Why do you think the job share got more to balance it out rather than getting the same but pro-rata to balance it out

Also, part time employees cannot be treated less favourably (obviously pro rata) to a full time employee doing the same job. However, as your colleague is also part time it is hard to see how that is the situation here.
Outside of these protected critera, a company could have two employees in the same role and pay one the national minimum wage and the other £100K per year and it would be perfectly lawful!1 -
Appreciate this is bolded already but this is almost impossible to prove.Undervalued said:

Employer can just say one employee is better on merit or doing a slightly different role.
Would have to have all other factors being equal e.g. performance, length of service etc. which is very unlikely.0 -
Some employers make it a condition that you do not disclose your salary.(And hence by implication nobody does.)0
